Dr. Serene Nagia was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan and earned her dental degree from the University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry. Following graduation, Dr. Serene served as an active-duty dentist in the U.S. Army, where she met her husband, Dr. Andrew Sharman. While in the military, Dr. Serene not only had the honor of serving our human service members but our canine soldiers as well. She had the unique opportunity to perform much needed care, such as extractions and root canals, on active-duty military dogs.
While Dr. Serene excels in all areas of general dentistry, she has a particular passion for replacing missing teeth with dental implants and helping patients regain their smile and confidence though better esthetics and function. She strives to provide a positive dental experience for every patient while taking time to educate and explain along the way. Although Dr. Serene has lived and practiced in many places along the east coast; she feels most at home in the mountains of Western North Carolina and is proud to be a part of the community. Outside of the office, Dr. Serene enjoys reading, home projects and all things the mountains of WNC have to offer.
Fun Facts about Dr. Serene: She continues her passion of caring for animals in need of dental care by volunteering at animal rescues and has treated a variety of animals to include lions, tigers, bears, oh my! Dr. Serene has two pets; a dog named Lucy and a cat named Lemon.
